Police arrested a Roosevelt man for an attempted robbery they say turned violent Friday night in Lakeview.
Authorities say 53-year-old Thornell Harris walked into a convenience store on Woodfield Road before 6 p.m.
Police say he then ran out of the store after swiping change off the counter left by another customer.
An 18-year-old male employee followed Harris out and confronted him in the street.
Police say that's when Harris took out a pair of scissors and stabbed the victim in the chin.
The employee was able to get the money back and called the police as soon as he returned to the store.
Officers found Harris a short time later and placed him under arrest.
He's charged with robbery and criminal possession of a weapon.
