The Patchogue-Medford Union Free School District says its elementary schools will close early Tuesday because of the extreme heat.

Superintendent of Schools Donna Jones says that Universal Pre-K will be dismissed at 11 a.m.

Elementary school students will be dismissed at 11:45 a.m.

The district also says that all after-school care and activities are canceled.
