An NYPD officer from Massapequa Park was shot and killed in the line of duty Monday evening in Far Rockaway, officials say.

The FDNY has confirmed the deceased officer as Jonathan E. Diller, who the NYPD say was a husband and a father to a young child.

The NYPD held a news conference at Jamaica Hospital Medical Center where the officer was pronounced dead.

They say the officer was conducting a traffic stop with his partner when he was shot by the driver just before 6 p.m. The suspect was also shot in the incident.

New York City Mayor Eric Adams says Diller was on the force for three years.
