A Hempstead man involved in a car crash Sunday morning along the Meadowbrook State Parkway died at a hospital from his injuries.

State police say the collision with another driver happened around 11:49 a.m. It closed all the northbound lanes near exits M6E and M5. Lanes reopened at 3:41 p.m.

The driver was identified as Jose Cruz Nunez. He was transported to a hospital with serious injuries and pronounced dead.

Details surrounding how the crash unfolded were not immediately clear.
