Floyd was released at Tiana Beach in Hampton Bays.
Floyd got his name from William Floyd Middle School students who helped nurse him back to health.
The New York Marine Rescue Center aided in his recovery.
Floyd is wearing a satellite tag so biologists can track his progress back in his new environment.
