A Mastic Beach man is facing charges for possessing weapons and child pornography following a search conducted at his home on Friday morning.
Suffolk police say they received a tip from the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force and executed a search warrant at the residence on Cranberry Drive.
Investigators uncovered four assault rifles and seven high-capacity magazines. Brian Tilts, 68, was arrested at the scene around 7 a.m.
The charges against him include possessing a sexual performance by a child, promoting sexual performance by a child, criminal possession of an assault weapon and criminal possession of a weapon.
He is scheduled to be arraigned Saturday at First District Court in Central Islip.
