A toddler is in critical condition after being found unresponsive in a pool in Mastic Friday morning.

A family member found the 2-year-old boy in the in-ground pool at a home on Mayfield Drive at 11:17 a.m., according to the Suffolk County Police Department. The family remember removed the boy from the water and began CPR until police arrived.

The SCPD and Mastic Beach Volunteer Ambulance personnel arrived on scene and continued lifesaving efforts before transporting him to Stony Brook University Hospital, where he remains in critical condition.
