A powerful storm caused a lot of damage to Hastings-on-Hudson, leaving many residents in the dark.

James Perry, who lives on Ravensdale Road, is attempting to work from home without power.

"I'm going to use the wi-fi hotspot on my phone to do whatever I can for the time being, probably run back to the library as the day goes on, but I can't take any meetings in there, so probably be running in and out of the car the whole time," said Perry.

Perry says he lost power Sunday morning.

"...Probably going to throw out everything in the fridge, all of the Fourth of July stuff that's left over," he said.

At least four residents in the area of Ravensdale Road and Kent Avenue are without power. Other residents in the area say their power has been restored, but are now waiting for large, fallen trees to be removed from their properties.

"It was a little scary because not only the wind was making a lot of sound, but then we hear all the thumps coming down on the road," said resident Ali Chettih.

Mayor Tom Drake says crews are waiting for Con Edison to give them the go-ahead to clear the rest of the trees and debris.

According to Con Edison's outage map, power should be restored around 7 p.m.
