19-year-old kidnapped and held at Huntington motel

Nassau police say the man threatened the female victim over numerous weeks - both verbally and electronically.

A 19-year-old woman was kidnapped and held at a Huntington motel.

Nassau police say Balraj Singh, of Queens, threatened the female victim over numerous weeks - both verbally and electronically.

The 28-year-old then got the teen to meet him on Monday at a specific location and then hit her several times in the face before showing her a boxcutter, according to police. He then drove the teen to the Abbey Motor Inn on West Jericho Turnpike and refused to let her leave.

It was here that police say that the teen was able to call 911. After an extensive investigation, she was located and Singh was placed under arrest without incident.

Police say that Singh had valid a valid order of protection and is charged with kidnapping, criminal contempt, unlawful imprisonment, aggravated harassment, harassment and menacing. He was arraigned on Tuesday at the First District Court in Hempstead.
