An MS-13 gang member has been sentenced to 42 years in prison for his role in two Nassau murder cases.

Federal prosecutors say Kevin Cuevas Del Cid admitted to posing as a woman on Facebook in order to lure Kerin Pineda to a wooded area near the Merrick Freeport border in 2016.

When the victim arrived, other gang members with machetes emerged and killed him.

Del Cid also confessed to helping murder 15-year-old Javier Castillo in Freeport five months later.

In both cases, prosecutors say the victims were believed to be rival gang members.
