Long Beach officials were on high alert Wednesday when police got word of a social media post announcing a party on the beach.

This comes just a few days after an illegal large gathering ended in chaos and gunfire.

Long Beach officials say they sent detectives to speak with the organizers and advise them that beach goers need a permit for any gathering over 100 people.

Gate attendants are now checking beach passes every day.

Police say they will continue to monitor social media to prevent any unpermitted gatherings.
