The FDNY held a patriotic street renaming ceremony in Baldwin Saturday in honor of a late firefighter.
George Tripptree Place is named after the firefighter who died of a 9/11-related illness three years ago.
Tripptree's family, which includes five brothers, and some 20 members who are all with the FDNY, were at the event to support him.
"When you walk or drive by the sign, we ask you to remember him. His kindness, his humor, his unwavering dedication, and if you hear a siren or see a fire scene, take a moment and simply say, 'God bless our firefighters one and all,'" said Theresa O'Donnell, Tripptree's Sister.
The event also included a flag arch display as well as pipes and drums from the FDNY Emerald Society.
