A Huntington Station teen is under arrest after allegedly shooting himself in the hand with an illegal weapon.

Police say a staff member at Huntington Hospital called them just before 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, saying a 15-year-old was being treated for a gunshot wound to their left hand.

Police eventually recovered a ghost gun at the teen’s house on Foxwood Drive East Saturday evening.

The teen was placed under arrest shortly after, and will appear in family court at a later date.
