New area code goes into effect in Nassau County
The need for it comes as numbers with the 516 area code are expected to run out in the next year.

The county's 363 area code
went into service today.
The need for it comes as
numbers with the 516 area code are expected to run out in the next year.
If you have a 516 number now
- you can keep it.
However, any requests for new
service or even a change in location could result in you getting the new 363
code.
