A 17-year-old was shot at the Lynbrook train station, MTA police say.
It happened just before 8 p.m. Saturday when units were called about several gun shots at the train station.
Police told News 12 that no victim or shooter were found, but officers did find two shell casings.
Then less than an hour later, police say a 17-year-old walked into a hospital less than two miles away with a gunshot wound in the back of his shoulder.
According to the MTA, the victim told police he was shot at the Lynbrook train station.
“You have a lot of kids in the area, that’s the last thing you want to hear, a shooting, it’s very scary," said Justin Fowler of Long Beach.
MTA police say they believe the shooter acted alone and this was a targeted attack. They say there is no threat to the public. No arrests have been made.
