Students at Eastport-South Manor Junior-Senior High School are trying to help those who are less fortunate.The students helped raise food, clothing and other items for local charities.The 10th-grade class organized a coat drive for those who may not have a warm coat due to the economy. A.K. Capersino says the coat drive netted more than 200 coats.The school's Key Club says it collected about 150 pairs of pajamas for children. The organization says the pajamas will be going to an orphanage in Wading River.There were also more than 600 pet items collected by Students Aiding Living Things for a local animal shelter.
