For nearly two decades, Long Island Children’s Museum’s "Together to Kindergarten" program has been helping kids and their families prepare to start school.

The free, four-week program helps first-generation families who were educated outside the U.S., or where English is a new language, learn skills such as readiness, literacy and more.

On Friday, families celebrated their kids graduation, as both the preschoolers and parents received diplomas.

Parents say it has made a huge impact on their children and that they have more confidence and increased social skills after taking the program.

A second summer session begins next week – and there are a few spots still available. You can find out more information by visiting the Long Island Children's Museum website.
