Teens learn skills needed to become firefighters at Camp Fahrenheit 516

A unique camp in Nassau County is geared toward a future career – and dozens of Long Island teens took advantage.
Camp Fahrenheit 516, now in its ninth year, gives junior firefighters the chance to learn the skills necessary to become a firefighter and receive real-life training under the watchful eye of professional instructors.
The teens tell News 12 it’s been an amazing experience and has only strengthened their desire to become firefighters in the future.
The program, held in Old Bethpage, is sponsored by the Firefighters Association of the State of New York and run by the Nassau County Junior Firefighters Association.
