Suffolk police officers help woman deliver baby in Amityville

Authorities say officers Peter Verhey and Joshua Valderamma responded to a residence on The Boulevard after a 911 call reported that the woman was in labor.

Two Suffolk County police officers helped a woman safely deliver her baby Thursday at a home in Amityville.
Authorities say officers Peter Verhey and Joshua Valderamma responded to a residence on The Boulevard after a 911 call reported that the woman was in labor.
Upon arrival, the two located the woman and assisted as she delivered a baby boy.
The mother and child were then taken to a hospital.
Both are in healthy condition, according to police.
