This morning. Our main street Long Island Series continues. We are heading out to highlight some of our great local businesses every Monday. Today we are in Great Neck. This morning news twelve's Jen Selig, checking out some dazzling jewelry at Gelber and Monday jewelers morning, Jen. Hey, good morning. You know this and diamonds are girl's best friend. I could stay here all day long. The jewelry here is gorgeous. We got necklaces, earrings, engagement rings and we have David Zuckerman. He is the owner of the business that started this business 75 years ago. You guys have been business for seven decades. Why is great next so special to you guys? Well, we were able to bring in all our customers. We had a very long following. My father and his partner started in 1949. They incorporated in 1954 when my father became a partner and we've got followings that are multigenerational. I have, I'm selling engage rings now to customers that I've sold engage rings to their grandparents and the customers are very loyal. We're very loyal to them and my brother and I run the business and we have been very fortunate to be able to take care of people when they come in, they always deal with an owner. So it's either myself or my brother. You said the customers are basically friends at this point. You see, they're like family now and we know their whole lives. We know when they have Children, we know, you know, when they have sad times and happy times and fortunately we get to share a lot of their happy times and when people come for jewelry, they're generally, they, they walk out very happy. Oh, I bet. And great neck is so special for you guys to be here in business, in business here for 14 years. So that's very special too. We're going to stick around and check out some other businesses in town and see what else. Great neck has to offer.

It's Monday, which means we're heading out to show off some of our favorite local businesses. One of our favorite parts of the week this morning, our main Street Long Island series continues in Great Neck and our Jen Selig is there learning more about this community morning, Jen, good morning. We on Bond Street and on Thursdays in the summer time, the street closes down for a couple of hours. The business is here, take out their tables and chairs there, live music. A lot of people come and celebrate this beautiful village and with me, I have run and you are the executive director of the great, great Neck pla Business Improvement District Long Title there. And what you do is you help beau this village. What we do as the bid is we help promote the downtown area in concert with our village government and with the mayor and the trustees, we try to do things that bring people into town to give them a good time to give them reasons for spending time with their family and friends in our downtown. Like what we do with these promenades and what you had just mentioned yesterday, Thursday We're having a promenade here on Bond Street. All the restaurants bring out their tables. There are hundreds of tables here. We have some wonderful restaurants here that bring out their culinary delights. People can enjoy great dining. We're going to have wonderful music for each. Actually gonna have three contestants, three wonderful high school Thespians, two from here in Great Neck itself and one from Oyster Bay who competed in our music fest this past June. They're going to be reprising what they did at that music fest. They are just wonderful. We were in awe of how wonderful their talent is and it'll be a wonderful night. We're even have a rock wall. So kids and some adventurous adults can have some fun climbing the rock wall. We're going to have what they call a five and one sports arcade so people can participate in that. There's something for everyone. It's a wonderful evening. So definitely time to come out and celebrate 630 to 30 to 1036 30 to 1030 on Bond Street. Perfect. So we got to go and check it out. At least I love the businesses that have been checking out. We are inside of LA LA and with me, I have Judy, she's the owner, you own the business with your husband. You guys travel all around the world, picking out individual pieces. I know you're helping a customer right now here too, Beth. I know you're a regular, what is the best part about having the business right here in town? So welcome to LA Love. You opened up the store 22 years ago and been serving this amazing community since then, serving uh uh working with great customers, mother and daughters from other special occasions. From uh evening gowns to everyday sportswear is our specialty and uh customer coming from everywhere because they trust us and they know that we find them the right avert with the right occasion. It's a place that you don't find online. You like the interaction with your one on one. It's a one on one customer base. They call me and, uh, the customers come in. They trust me. I set the adverts for them. They know where they're going to find here and they know the pieces they gonna find here. They won't find it anywhere else and really putting an emphasis on shopping local. I mean, this is your livelihood. Yes. It's, uh, the trust that the customers with us and the relationship that I have with my customers and, uh, just the family, the family business and, uh, they know me, they know my family. They come here because they trust us. Oh, Beth, that is cute. I gotta do some shopping now. So we gotta send it back to the studio. Thank you, Jen. Thanks so much.

We got milk chocolate, dark chocolate, white chocolate, everything here and Marnie, you are the owner a made on Long Island business. You make all of your treats right here. We do. We make everything here. Um chocolate covered pretzels, chocolate covered caramels, marshmallows, chocolate dipped strawberries. We bake our own cookies. We make ice cream sandwiches. Uh We specialize in beautiful packaging trays, giftware gift baskets. Um If you need a gift, a beautiful luxury gift to take to someone's house for the weekend holiday gifts, condolence, gifts, birthday gifts. Uh we ship and deliver nationwide and we are known also for our Budapest Truffle, which I'd love for you to taste. It's a dark chocolate and cream truffle. We keep them frozen or refrigerated, we ship them on ice. It's our, it's our famous truffle. It has a cult following online. You can also buy it on our website. Um, it's a fresh cream and dark chocolate truffle. It's rolled in chocolate and cocoa powder. You've been in Great Neck since 98. What's the best part about being right here? The best part about this town is, is, is the people and the staff and the like the service people. Like, are you PS guy, our staff, our customers, we have customers that come in every day for two pieces of chocolate. We have customers that call us for every single occasion, every birthday, every, every holiday.
