Today, we're continuing to highlight another local neighborhood and its small businesses. And this morning, our main street Long Island series continues in Uniondale, Alex Kama is at Pantano's Gourmet, grabbing a bite to eat there. Hey, Alex, a lot of people love that place. Hey, guys. Oh, I can see why they love it. There is something here for everyone and I'm here to talk to the owner, Mike. So you're here every single morning at all of your Pantano's Gourmet locations. And I can see just how incredible the staff is here. The food too. What is the secret? Uh I don't really know if there's a secret other than uh just giving the customers what they want. Honestly, I am uh an owner, but I always think about the customers first before, before anything else because we're here for the customers. So make the customer happy and everything else kind of falls in line with uh what we do, right? So let's talk a little bit about the customers. What kind of food do you have here for people? Well, we serve uh breakfast and lunch, uh breakfast all day. So no matter what time you wanna come in. Uh, we'll have something, uh, on the grill for you. Um, burgers, paninis, wraps, salads. We make, you know, some, some pretty cool stuff, uh, with smashed meatballs. Philly cheesesteaks, uh, mac and cheese. You know, we put, uh, Doritos on sandwiches, so a little bit, a little bit of a twist, you know, but at the same time, if you want to come and eat something healthy and get a, a lettuce wrap or you wanna get a grilled chicken sandwich. We have that too. So don't feel that. Oh, no, we, we can't get that here. You can, you can get all that stuff. Can we do the Doritos with the lettuce wrap? You can do whatever you want. That's what's so great about Pantano's. You could literally do whatever you want. We're here for you. Yeah, I saw that you had the whole order form. You can check what you want. So you don't have to do like just an app or anything. I know these days things can be very complex for you. No, no, I'm, I'm, uh, a little old school myself. I try to stay away from, uh, you know, the apps and ordering online. If you want to call up, you call up, we'll have your order ready for you when you come in and try to make it as easy as possible for you. I love that old school but convenient because you can come in here. But there are other ways of getting food too. Right. Correct. Yeah, since we started in 1995 obviously, everything has changed, but at the same token, we want to keep it, you know, easy. And if easy is for you to go online and order through an app, you can do that if easy for you is to call us and you could do that. So I, I don't want to force you to go one way or the other. So we're, we're here, like I said, for the customer. That's awesome, Mike. Thank you so much and we're gonna go get a little bite to eat and we'll see you guys in a bit. All right, Alex. Thank you. Today, we're highlighting another local neighborhood. Our main street Long Island Series heads to Union Dale as we've been doing all week and news 12. Alex Kam is a pure bred training right now. Getting a workout in Alex. We know you're loving this this morning. I will tell you, I've mostly been enjoying the benefits of working out just by watching everybody else here, Aaron. So I'm here with Michael, who's not just the owner of purebred training, but also a trainer yourself. Uh What brought you to Uniondale? And what is this concept about? Right. So we already had our community based out in uh Westbury. So we're not too far away. Have you started in my garage before? So it was easy to kind of make this transition over here. We have um the highway over here. So it's been really good. Um just bringing the community over over here and I know a lot of people are watching, they're getting back into that school routine with their kids. Uh So what do you recommend for people who, you know, wanna join your classes or uh maybe a one on one training? I know you offer as Well, how can people get involved? Yes. So I mean you can guys can find us on Instagram. Um Our first class is free so you can come check us out, usually follow like nine week programs at a time and we have different blocks for three weeks at a time that are helping us like get better, stronger, more condition but our endurance um it's very functional as well too. So I definitely suggest coming in trying it out, see how you guys like it. I ask everybody secret to success. So when it comes to goals here, what is the secret to success? Um Just to work hard and don't run away from the goals, don't run away from your challenges. Um Us here like we always like look at our challenges as an opportunity you need to level up. So that's kind of what a purebred is and to be surrounded by all those people who come in, they want to challenge themselves. It's kind of hard not to work hard when you see everyone working so hard. That's what Uniondale is all about. And I think that's what comes to my fitness goals too. Like it's about that sense of community. Uh Just a few moments ago, it was just absolutely jam packed with people in here who would have been able to talk because it was loud and fun and that is the secret to success. The energy here is unmatched for sure. I mean, the community is just like my favorite part about this. Exactly. Um So just having everyone in here um to build what we have now, we wouldn't be here without everyone and all of our members. That's awesome. Thanks Michael. Today, we're continuing to highlight another local neighborhood and its small businesses this morning on our main street Long Island series. We continue in Uniondale News twelve's Alex Kama is at Hardison pastries grabbing a sweet treat there. Hey, Alex, you're just popping around town there. I know. But this was really easy right next door to the gym. Just finished a workout and look at all of these amazing pastries that are made in house fresh. Such an incredible smell here. That's what I wish. I mean, I know you're enjoying the view, but I'm telling you the fragrance is amazing and this is a Carman chai tea, right? This is like incredible. What makes this tea so special. So this is a whole, the ingredients from India, especially the leaf leaf is more sensitive, right? So the taste of the leaf that, that make the chai make special and the cardamom we use the real cardamom to flavor it. It's not a syrup, there is no artificial flavor, nothing, everything is organic and let's talk about flavor. So you said one of the most popular things aside from the chai tea are the macaroons. What flavors do you have what makes it so special. So all the Macaroons we make in house and second thing we have like we use the flavoring with the curd with lemon with a lemon curd and a raspberry with a raspberry curd. Match with the mocha curd and chocolate with a chocolate pastry cream. So it's everything is super light and soft. Normally you find the Macaroons is harder, this is super soft. Do you want to try some? Wow. Yes. OK. We definitely got to try some. After first, I'm gonna have some of this tea. OK. Hold on. It is so perfectly sweet and also spicy too. It's more than just a sweet treat. You can tell that these are fresh ingredients. Thank you so much for having us. We're gonna have some of those macaroons. I'm telling you, I can tell I can't even express my excitement because I have such a sweet tooth. We're bringing it back to uh the Beth Page guys and the pastry shop right next to the gym that works out real well for everybody. Right. Just keep doing that loop. All right, Alex.
