A Center Moriches man is expected to spend 20 years in prison after pleading guilty to repeatedly raping his stepdaughter over the course of 10 years.

Authorities say the man began assaulting the girl in 2014. She was 7 years old at the time.

The abuse stopped in 2023 when the victim told her mother. Authorities say the mother went on to catch the man moments before he attempted to commit another assault against the girl.

Prosecutors say the man’s name will not be released to protect the victim’s identity. He is expected to be sentenced next month.
