A viral video captured a first responder shouting and cursing as a 10-year-old girl was being wheeled into an ambulance.

It happened Monday on North Westchester Avenue in West Babylon, which falls under the jurisdiction of the North Babylon Fire Company.

The girl’s grandmother says the family called for help because her granddaughter was having a hard time and wasn’t able to calm down.

The grandmother, who doesn’t want her name used, was not home at the time.

After watching the video Tuesday, the girl’s grandmother said she was shaking.

“How dare he?" she said.

As a result of the incident, the executive board of the North Babylon Fire Company said the member, who News 12 has learned is North Babylon Fire Chief Peter Alt, has been relieved of his duties while an investigation takes place.

The fire company says it does not condone this behavior and deems it unacceptable.
