73-year-old man struck in head with metal pipe in Bensonhurst

Police say that around 5:30 p.m., a 73‑year‑old man was at Milestone Park, at 82nd Street and 18th Avenue, when an unidentified individual approached him and a verbal dispute began.

The NYPD is asking for the public’s help identifying a man wanted in connection with an assault in Bensonhurst on June 20.

Police say that around 5:30 p.m., a 73‑year‑old man was at Milestone Park, at 82nd Street and 18th Avenue, when an unidentified individual approached him and a verbal dispute began.

The individual then struck the victim in the head with a metal pipe.

The attacker fled the scene on a bicycle, heading westbound on 82nd Street.

The victim was taken to a local hospital in stable condition.

The suspect is described as a male with a light complexion, last seen wearing a black baseball cap, dark jacket, beige pants and white sneakers.
