An overnight house fire in Great Neck killed two pets and left three firefighters with minor injuries, according to the Manhasset-Lakeville Volunteer Fire Department.

The fire broke out at a house on Tobin Avenue around 3:20 a.m.

The occupants of the home were alerted by smoke detectors and self-evacuated. A man was evaluated on site for superficial burns but refused medical treatment.

The Nassau Fire Marshal's Office says the house suffered heavy damage and is currently uninhabitable.

It was not immediately clear what caused the blaze.
