“They’re angels on Earth,” Diane Summerfold said of three officers with the Suffolk County Sheriff’s Office who worked to save her brother Lenny Muzillo’s life last month.

Muzillo was at the Longwood Estate in Ridge for the Town of Brookhaven senior picnic when his heart stopped.

The officers happened to be on site, giving out medical IDs. They jumped into action – performing CPR on Muzillo for more than seven minutes. The harrowing moments were captured on body camera.

Muzillo is doing well and was reunited with his heroes, Correction Officer Sean Higgins, Deputy Sheriff Dylan Hever and Correction Officer Travis Yacovone Tuesday at the Middle Island home he shares with his sister.

“I’m glad they were there,” Deputy Sheriff Hever said. “I’ve done CPR countless times and that was the first one I was able to actually bring back.”

“This is a total miracle. It doesn’t usually go this way,” said Summerfold.
