A Lake Ronkonkoma was robbed Monday, hours after an attempted robbery at a Yaphank bank , police say.
In both incidents, police say the person responsible was a woman wearing a facemask and helmet.
At around 10 a.m., police say the suspect tried robbing a Chase Bank on Main Street in Yaphank. She passed a note to the teller demanding cash, but the teller did not comply.
The suspect then fled on the back of a waiting motorcycle.
The second incident happened at the TD Bank on Portion Road in Lake Ronkonkoma at around 3 p.m., police say. In that incident, the teller complied when the suspect passed them a note demanding cash.
The woman again fled on the back of a waiting motorcycle.
Police would not confirm if the crimes were committed by the same woman.
