A woman is facing manslaughter charges after her 18-month-old choked to death this past April.

According to police, Olivia Bithorn Russell was binge drinking at a residence on Stuyvesant Avenue in Merrick when her son choked on a popcorn kernel in another room of the house and died.

News 12’s Cecilia Dowd was in the courtroom as prosecutors presented evidence to keep Bithorn Russell behind bars until her trial.
