The white supremacist from Long Island who participated in the violence in Charlottesville has surrendered to police on felony charges.
Former Stony Brook resident Christopher Cantwell turned himself in to police in Lynchburg, Virginia late Wednesday.
Cantwell admitted to pepper spraying an anti-Nazi demonstrator during the violence in Charlottesville. Cantwell insists it was in self-defense.
Cantwell will be transferred to Charlottesville to face three felony charges, including illegal use of tear gas.
