STORM WATCH: Stormy Friday expected with remnants of Nicole

WHAT'S NEW: It is the "calm before the storm" as a light breeze, mild temps, and increasing clouds move in overnight into Friday morning. Veterans Day will be rather warm and feeling muggy.
Temps have a chance to tie or break a daytime high on Friday (record is 68 in 2020).
WHAT'S NEXT: Tropical Storm Nicole will become a remnant low and it's associated moisture arrives Friday midday and leaves us with stormy conditions into Saturday morning. Drier and cooler air rushes in Saturday evening into Sunday. Expect a colder trend in temperatures for much of next week.

NICOLE – The system is a tropical storm, located over the Florida Panhandle, and moving to the north. It is forecast to weaken as it moves up the East Coast, bringing tropical rains by Friday/Saturday to Long Island.

OVERNIGHT: Increasing cloud cover with mild temps and a light breeze. Lows: low 50s.
FRIDAY: VETERANS DAY – STORM WATCH - Mostly cloudy in the morning with scattered showers arriving by midday with heavier rains coming (on and off) in as the evening progresses. Expect the winds to increase through the second half of the day. A WIND ADVISORY starts at 10pm for sustained winds of 20-30 mph and gusts 40-50+ mph (strongest gusts mainly for East End) Highs: mid 60s to 70. Lows: low to mid 60s.

SATURDAY: STORM WATCH (AM) – On and off batches of moderate to heavy rain in the morning (from West to East), then drier conditions in the afternoon. Expect strong winds with gusts of 25-50 mph and rough ocean/sound wave activity through the first half of the day. The wind advisory is taken down at 10 a.m. The rain will wrap up by 9/10 AM. Highs: mid 60s to 70. Lows: low to mid 40s.

SUNDAY: Partly cloudy & breezy with a colder feeling in the air. There is a small chance of a passing shower in the morning hours but most should stay dry. Highs: mid 50s. Lows: mid 30s.
