Three eighth-graders were arraigned Saturday in connection to the stabbing of a 13-year-old Hempstead boy.
According to the police, the victim was stabbed in the temple walking home from Alverta B. Gray Schultz Middle School Thursday and is in critical condition. Police say tips led them to the arrest of Tylik Thomas, Sean Holloway, both 14, and Terrell Beckett Jr., 15. Nassau and Hempstead police say they believe an ongoing rivalry sparked the violence. Police say the victim was also stabbed last month in an apparent neighborhood rivalry, but his injuries were not serious.
The three suspects are charged as adults and are due back in criminal court next week.
