Swimming resumes at Davis Park on Fire Island following shark sighting

Brookhaven Town lifeguards made the call to keep swimmers out of the water until further notice on Wednesday.

Swimming will be permitted today after another shark was spotted near Long Island.  
The sighting happened Wednesday morning at Davis Park on Fire Island.
Brookhaven Town lifeguards made the call to keep swimmers out of the water until further notice.
The sighting is the latest in a string of sightings and possible shark bites, including one at Smith Point County Park this past weekend.
