Brookhaven lifeguards reported a shark sighting at Davis Park on Fire Island, according to town officials.

Town of Brookhaven Public Information Officer Jack Krieger says out of an abundance of caution, swimming is prohibited until further notice.

This sighting is not far from where a lifeguard was bitten by a shark Sunday during a training exercise at Smith Point Beach.
