A memorial bench was unveiled Friday at the Suffolk Veterans Memorial at Bald Hill.

It was dedicated in memory of veterans who have died by suicide.

A phone number for a crisis line is on the bench for veterans who are going through mental health struggles.

"This bench reminds us that some battles do not end on foreign shores or distant fields but continue here at home within the hearts and minds of those who have worn the weight of service," said Steven Rubin, grand master of the Masons State of New York.

The Masonic War Vets donated the bench.

Officials say they've dedicated four other benches in Suffolk County, including at the West Sayville Golf Course and Veterans Memorial Park in Port Jefferson.
