Suffolk County Executive Steve Bellone and law enforcement officials on Friday announced a partnership with doctors to provide free tattoo removal for survivors of human trafficking.
Traffickers often ink their victims to symbolize ownership.
Suffolk police say they're committed to working closely with nonprofits to rehabilitate human trafficking survivors and put their abusers behind bars.
Friday marked National Human Trafficking Awareness Day.
