A pedestrian was seriously injured when police say he was hit by a motorcycle in Central Islip.
Police say the motorcyclist was also taken to the hospital with minor injuries.
Police say Xavier Batista, of Brentwood, hit 45-year-old Jose Marinez, of Central Islip.
The incident happened around 5 p.m. Wednesday on Suffolk Avenue near Islip Avenue.
Anyone who witnessed the crash is asked to call police.
