This evening, scattered mostly light rain showers will taper off from west to east through around 10 p.m. Clouds will gradually clear, leaving us with partly cloudy conditions and overnight lows settling into the 60s.
Wednesday is shaping up to be the nicest day of the week. Expect wall-to-wall sunshine, low humidity and warm temperatures climbing into the 80s inland, while south-facing beaches and the shoreline remain comfortably cooler in the 70s. If you're spending time outdoors, keep in mind the UV index will be high, so sunscreen and plenty of water are recommended.
Thursday starts with more sunshine before clouds begin increasing during the afternoon. It will stay dry for most locations, with pleasant temperatures reaching the upper 70s to lower 80s. Overall, it will be another comfortable summer day with seasonable conditions across Long Island and the surrounding region.
By Friday, the weather turns a bit more unsettled as mostly cloudy skies return along with periods of rain showers. High temperatures will be close to 80 degrees. The unsettled pattern may linger into Saturday with more clouds and scattered showers, although temperatures will remain seasonable in the 70s to around 80. Looking ahead to Sunday, conditions improve once again with increasing sunshine and highs climbing into the upper 70s and lower 80s, making for a much more enjoyable finish to the weekend.
