Greenport man arrested for child pornography, sending indecent photo to a minor

A Greenport man was arrested by Suffolk County police on Monday and is accused of trying to meet up with someone he believed to be a 13-year-old girl after having explicit communications.
Police say Digital Forensic Unit detectives began investigating a report that Corey Hooks arranged to meet the minor at Topgolf in Holtsville on May 26 after connecting on social media. Authorities allege Hooks sent an indecent photo to the girl and that child pornography was later discovered on his phone.
Hooks is charged with promoting a sexual performance by a child, possessing a sexual performance by a child, attempted endangering the welfare of a child and attempted dissemination of indecent material.
He is expected to be arraigned Tuesday.
