A man was fatally stabbed in West Hills on Thursday, police say.
The victim was stabbed on Oakwood Road around 12:55 p.m. across the street from Stimson Middle School.
He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police tell News 12 the victim and the suspect were both in the same car when the stabbing occurred. They also say the two men involved knew each other.
Police say several people, including a relative, witnessed the incident. They say that relative tried breaking up the fight and she sustained minor injuries.
Detectives have a man in custody in relation to the fatal stabbing.
The stabbing happened while school was in session - causing a slightly delayed dismissal.
The school district tells News 12 that their new armed security guard was not involved in assisting the investigation and there was no lock-in.
