Police: Man accused in Uniondale murder arrested before fleeing country

A man accused of killing a Uniondale man was arrested in Texas just as he was about to board a bus to Mexico, police say.
Oscar Rios Perez is now facing murder charges. Police say he was previously convicted of assault in Nassau County under a different name and was deported.
News 12 reported that Jesus Martinez, 27, of Uniondale was found lying in the street on Walton Avenue last month. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Detective Lt. Stephen Fitzpatrick says police believe he was having an argument with Rios Perez late in the evening.
“This argument became physical. The subject we know now is Oscar Rios Perez, stabbed him multiple times, placed him in that plastic bag and placed him out in front of a neighbor's house," Fitzpatrick says.
