Firefighter injured, four residents displaced in Elmont house fire

Around 40 crew members responded to the scene and extinguished the flames within 25 minutes.

An Elmont house fire left four people displaced and one firefighter hurt on Friday night.

The Nassau County Fire Marshall’s Office says the flames broke out inside the two-story Lincoln Street residence just after 8 p.m.

Around 40 crew members responded to the scene and extinguished it within 25 minutes.

Officials say the firefighter was hospitalized and treated for minor injuries. No civilians were hurt.

The displaced residents are being assisted by The Red Cross. The cause of the blaze remains under investigation.
