A Lake Ronkonkoma chiropractor was arrested Friday after three more women accused him of forcible touching.
Police said the incidents happened at Dr. Ronald Bernardini's Lake Ronkonkoma practice, Lake Chiropractic, during 2021 and 2022.
Bernardini's attorney, Anthony LaPinta, said the complaints by the patients are just untrue. He said his 65-year-old client is devastated with the latest allegations and said he's innocent.
Police said the victims came forward after hearing about Bernardini's October 2022 arrest on charges that he sexually abused the teen at his practice.
Bernardini denied the allegation about the teen.
LaPinta said Bernardini is a well-respected and honored chiropractor and has never in his career had allegations like these. He said his client will fight the charges in court and is in the process of investigating all claims of these four patients.
"I've read the statements. We're trying to make sense of them. Many of the allegations took place years ago and there was no outcry then. We're working to investigate the first allegation and, especially now with these, to understand how and why these allegations can be made," LaPinta said.
He added that Bernardini's practice will remain open until the doctor can clear his name.
Bernardini, of Smithtown, is now charged with four counts of forcible touching. He was released from custody Friday without bond.
