A 35-year-old Hicksville woman was arrested for multiple robberies following an investigation spanning eight months.
Detectives say April Summers would rob, assault and often kidnap victims she met through online escort ads.
Police located Summers on Thursday at the Floral Park Motor Inn on Jericho Turnpike, where she allegedly violently resisted arrest.
During her arraignment on Sunday, her accusers claimed she would threaten making rape allegations against them if they did not give her $5,000.
Summers faces charges such as robbery, assault, coercion and strangulation. The judge also issued four orders of protection for her alleged victims.
Summers bail was set at $300,000 cash or $600,000 bond. Her lawyer told the court she would not be able to come up with the bail money. She is due back in court on June 21.
Some residents told News 12 they are concerned about activity they have seen occurring at the Floral Park Motor Inn recently.
"I'm not surprised, unfortunately,” said Stephanie. “…I know a lot of people that go to that hotel aren't really from around here, and sometimes it brings bad things to our neighborhood."
