Police: 79-year-old e-bike rider fatally struck by car in North Long Beach

Police say the man was going south on the sidewalk of Austin Boulevard near Audubon Boulevard when he swerved to avoid an SUV that was leaving the drive thru of a Dunkin' at 11:15 a.m.

A 79-year-old man on an e-bike was killed after a car struck him Sunday morning in North Long Beach.

Police say the man was going south on the sidewalk of Austin Boulevard near Audubon Boulevard when he swerved to avoid an SUV that was leaving the drive thru of a Dunkin' at 11:15 a.m.

The man fell off the bike into the roadway where the SUV driven by a 75-year-old woman struck him.

The man, whom authorities had not identified as of Sunday night, was pronounced dead at the hospital.
