News 12 Long Island has learned that 10 Long Islanders have been charged in a massive identity fraud scheme.
The Suffolk district attorney says 13 people and three corporations created more than 20 fake identities in the county.
The DA says the suspects made off with millions of dollars through fake loans and fraudulent credit cards using stolen Social Security numbers.
Officials say the suspects targeted people with no credit history, including immigrants and children as young as 5 years old.
Officials say the losses could add up to $100 million nationwide.
