About 40 Nassau workers who were given pink slips last week will soon be back on the job at the Department of Social Services (DSS).As News 12 Long Island has reported, 106 DSS workers were laid off last week in an effort to balance Nassau's budget. Now, the county says it has found some new grant money. The rehires are expected to take place in the next few weeks.
