An alleged MS-13 gang member has been convicted in connection to the 2017 killing of a teenager at the Massapequa Preserve, according to the Nassau County district attorney.
Prosecutors say Carlos Portillo was one of several men who hacked Julio Cesar Gonzales-Espantzay to death with a machete.
The victim was lured to his death after police say a woman working with MS-13 promised him drugs and sex.
Two other men are already serving sentences for the death of Gonzales-Espantzay.
Portillo will be sentenced on March 7.
