As part of the investigation, authorities also seized two cats from Kennedy’s residence.

Kennedy turned herself in on Wednesday was processed and released after posting a $10,000 bond, police say. She is scheduled to return to court on May 13.

The City of Meriden is petitioning to retain custody of the two cats, with a hearing scheduled for May 1, at Meriden Superior Court.
