The grandson of late mob boss John Gotti was arrested Wednesday for an alleged assault that occurred in East Norwich.
Nassau police say they responded to a report of a domestic disturbance around 10:30 p.m. Tuesday on Mill River Road.
Upon arrival, they were informed that a verbal argument took place between Carmine Gotti Agnello and a 29-year-old woman.
Investigators say the argument escalated as Angello began to slap, punch and choke the victim. He also broke her cellphone by smashing it on the ground.
The victim left the scene immediately and called police.
Angello was apprehended without incident the following day. He is charged with assault, criminal mischief and criminal obstruction of breathing.
As News 12 previously reported, Angello was sentenced to 15 months in jail for COVID relief fraud.
Police say he is set to be arraigned on the new charges Thursday at First District Court in Hempstead.
