The Suffolk Police Department is making some changes to their hiring process.

Starting in Spring of 2027, they will offer their entrance exam every two years rather than four.

Department leaders say they are hoping the change will boost recruitment.

Suffolk Police Benevolent Association President Lou Civello joined News 12 to discuss the new system.
